Malaysia Appoints TNK’s Dr. Jongkil Jay Jeong as Subject Matter Expert for Malaysia Cyber Security Strategy 2025-2030.

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA (April 2, 2025) – The National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) of Malaysia has appointed Dr. Jongkil Jay Jeong, Managing Director at TNK2 Pty. Ltd. (Australia), to serve as a Subject Matter Expert on the national task force developing the Malaysia Cyber Security Strategy (MCSS) 2025-2030.

Dr. Jeong joins distinguished academics Professor Atif Ahmad and Associate Professor Sean Maynard from the University of Melbourne on the expert panel tasked with strengthening Malaysia’s cyber resilience framework in alignment with the recently enacted Cyber Security Act 2024.

“We are assembling world-class expertise to ensure Malaysia’s cybersecurity strategy addresses both current and emerging threats,” said Ir. Dr. Megat Zuhairy Megat Tajuddin, Chief Executive of NACSA. “These latest appointments reflect our commitment to integrating international best practices with local strategic priorities.”

This appointment builds upon TNK’s established track record of collaboration with Malaysian government agencies, including previous DFAT-funded projects that have enhanced the nation’s cyber capabilities. Dr. Jeong and the TNK team will provide strategic advisory services, conduct case study research with critical infrastructure operators, and deliver technical consultation to align policies with global standards.

“The MCSS is not just a document, but a blueprint for safeguarding Malaysia’s digital ecosystem. This opportunity allows us to apply our research in ways that directly benefit Malaysia’s cyber ecosystem and strengthen regional resilience.” said Dr. Jeong.

The task force will address evolving cyber threats in Malaysia’s increasingly digital landscape, identify opportunities to leverage cutting-edge technologies for national security, and ensure alignment with international standards within local legislative frameworks.

The MCSS 2025-2030 represents a significant milestone in Malaysia’s cybersecurity journey, with the potential to establish new benchmarks for cyber resilience strategies worldwide.
